I was recently playing some games on my laptop and noticed it was starting to get very hot in my lap. I installed Core Temp and it is reading:

Earlier though right after closing out of my game it read 53C on both cores with a low of 52C and a high of 77C. To me this seems way too hot. I am starting to believe that the fan might be breaking/broken as the laptop has been getting very hot.

Any computer guys who can help me out on this? I googled it but couldn't really find anything. I very well might be freaking out haha.

seems about right...laptops tend to get very hot...you can get a laptop cooler, or you can take it apart...and see if the fan/heatsink is clogged...do you smoke in front of your laptop? nicotine has a tendancy of clogging these.

I sometimes smoke while on my laptop. I have not smoked in a few weeks though and won't for another week and a half. Should I take the back off sometime and clean it if it needs it?

you can take compressed air, but when a heatsink/fan gets clogged the best thing to do is to open it up, and clean or replace the heatsink...what model laptop?

Dell XPS M1530. It is outside of warranty now so I don't mind tinkering with it as I am fairly knowledgeable. I mainly have worked on desktops though so this is different.
