What about the Outer Banks? It's beautiful, and if you're not from the mid Atlantic, I bet neither of you has been, so it'll be a new experience.

Never even heard of the Outer Banks? Can you elaborate a lil more? Maybe give some personal experiences?

At the moment we're waiting to hear back from a resort in the Dominican. We decided to enlist the help of a "travel agent" to make it a little easier to communicate and get some help. We had quite a few people tell us that a lot of the resorts help out the agents more because so they will send more clients there.

The Outer Banks (OBX) are a bunch of islands in NC. If you've heard of Nags Head or Kitty Hawk, they're in the OBX. They were a really frequent destination for a "nice" beach weekend when I was in grad school. (There were closer beaches we went to sometimes, but they're not as nice as the Outer Banks.)

I'd be happy to dig around for some recommendations if you want. Best bet is usually just to rent a house on the beach -- there's tons to do, and relative to a lot of international options it's pretty cheap.

Me and the fiance decided we're gonna do a destination wedding next spring. We're so overwhelmed by all of the options! Its actually starting to become more stressful than enjoyable.
Hahaha...Stressfull...get used to it! Wives = Stress!!!!

Weddings in general are more of a pain then they are worth IMO. All the BS for one day.
Still can't find a photographer huh?

Seriously bro...I wish you the best whatever you decide to do!

Thanks for the info. No need to dig around. I think we're pretty set on the spot she found in the DR. BUT...I will keep your suggestion in mind for maybe a vacation or something.

just want to thank all you guys for your help and advice. We (she) finally picked a spot. We're gonna be doing our thang in Dominican Republic at a resort called Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. Date is set for June 1, 2012.

Thailand is very nice, you have everything there. I would stay away from Bangkok though.

Barcelona is great also!
