Especially when there isn't any work tomorrow...

The RASS was from 08, and as I'm used to drinking IPAs mostly, this was one of the few times I can recall of late where the beverage took a back seat to the cigar....

Not a dis' on the beer....cause it's spectacular IMO....but this was a great pairing.

I need to try more true Oktoberfests....

and find more RASS to put in a deep slumber!

How is that Hofbräu? I've been meaning to try it. RASS looks great.
It's very, very good. We tried a couple other Oktoberfest brews over the weekend...albeit not "traditional" ones (as they weren't brewed in Munich...but in the US)...and the Hofbrau was by far the best IMO. It has a slight bit of skunk to it up front, but that disappears quickly and just turns into a nice clean/crisp flavor. I wasn't expecting to like these, as I've been a major hop-head for over a year now....but this one surprised me. I'll be buying more.

Looks like a fantastic way to spend an evening. Is that a regional brew or can I get it here in CA?
I found it at a local bottle shop here....but they've got a huge selection. Someone above said they found it at Costco...so I'll be looking there and hoping I can luck out and get some. If you look around in CA, you'll be able to find it I'm sure.

Hofbrau Oktoberfest is the only beer that is only brewed in the main Hofbrau in Munich, as opposed to in each restaurant. If you think its good out of the bottle, I suggest chasing down a Hofbrau House and trying it from the tap.... especially in a nice 1 liter mug... it is absolutely amazing... in fact, that may be my weekend project!!!
