Hey BOTLs,

I've never used the click-n-ship feature before but it seems like it's going to be the best money saving option down the road. I have flat rate boxes from USPS, but I don't see those as an option in the click-n-ship steps. It wants me to enter the weight. What's the point in that? I don't have a scale and I don't really have much interest in buying one since the small and medium flat rate boxes can cover 99% of my shipping needs.

Medium is $10.95 and Small is $5.20. Is there a discount of any sort by using click-n-ship? My office lets me mail prepaid stuff out every day so if I can get this down to a science there's no holding back my growing cigar habit... :stretchgr

you can put in any approx weight as it is not figured in a flat rate box under a certain amount. after you fill in that page, the next page will ask you what size box you are using. online click n ship is all i've ever used.

Just make sure you don't put 14 ounces or more if you intend to use a drop box.

Enter the info requested on the bottom of that page; weight, size of box, etc.

The next page will show all options for sending, i.e. overnight, USPS priority mail with and without the flat rate boxes (which is what you are describing), etc.

The weight/size helps determine if something would be cheaper send a particular way (for example a large, heavy box), or might not fit the regs for priority (there are some weight limits if you are sending priority internationally).

There is a small discount for using clip & ship for flat rate (I think the small flat rate is $4.80 if paid on line though click & ship). I just use "Internet" postage labels avail at any office supply store.

Hope that helps!

awesome, thanks guys. It looks like there's an issue with Adobe and my browser at work so it won't let me print the label. I can start doing this from home though and bring it with me to work.

I ordered a pack of small, medium, and large flat rate boxes. Ya'll better start reinforcing your mailboxes and front door steps! :devilhead

Daniel... I was totally with you until last week.

I always tried it... and would stop when I didn't see an option for flat rate. Finally, I got wise enough to ask someone, and lo and behold... damn. Wish I had asked sooner!!! LOL

Daniel, sorry to hear you are having trouble printing click and ship labels. Mine seems to be working just fine.......

This shouldn't be a problem when using click n ship, only be a problem if you use stamps as postage, then you'll get a letter asking you to come in to the office to get your package out.

I always just put 1 lb. never had an issue. You do save a few cents I believe by using click and ship.
Yes you get a discount for using click and ship plus you get DC for free when you pay online. Just another way to put postal employees out of work, i mean make the USPS more competitive in the modern marketplace.
