If I were still a newb, and was in this contest, I might want to choose something out of the Pepin/My Father factory as those ashes hold for days in my opinion......just stating an opinion......:innocent:

Enjoying an Anejo No. 49 and thought I would see how big of an ash I could create... ruler to validate. Got 3".

The ash dropped about another 0.125" into the cigar! I'll try another one later in the week.

I think everyone else is exaggerating... they have really small hands to make the ash look larger.:rolling:

I decided to give this another go. With my secret weapon in store, I lit up a Jaime Garcia RE, Toro Gordo. At first, everything was going smoothly (see pic 1).

Then, halfway into my quest, I saw my castle start leaning (see pic 2). This is going to be an uphill battle.

Then, further to my dismay, I saw some major cracks in my armor (see pic 3).

Envisioning my demise, I took another picture (see pic 4). I knew it was coming, but prayed to all that is holy I could fend off the impending disaster.

Then, for whatever reason, I started to regain some confidence that my empire could hold off. I was wrong. (see pic 5)

The stick was 6 inches long, by my estimation I got a good 5 inches of ash, although I was hoping for a bit more.

Pretty sure I'm done with this task. Gave it my best shot!

I would just like to point out that he posted this during the 49ers game... I question whether he's truly a 49ers fan. And the 49ers are currently winning 16 to 0.

Can you explain this behavior to me 49ersnut? Maybe you should do this more often, so the 49ers have a chance...

hm... still doesn't look like you are very dedicated. My wife got upset with him during the Eagles game because I was upsetting the household.

Let me suggest a tweak to your name... instead of "49ersnut" let's change it to "49erswhishywashynut".

Here's my 2nd try - A Tatuaje Tainos which is 7 5/8 x 49.

Do I at least get style points?

I got 4.125" of an ash in the photo. I think 49ernut's and Tobacco Giant's ashes are longer. Had to give it another try. :cursing:

OK, so last night I am smoking a San Lotano Habano Robusto, playing bags and realize that half my cigar is gone and the ash is still hanging on strong. So.... I decide to see just how long of an ash I could get with this thing. Here are the results...

Ash...

Ash Stand...

FYI, I put this thing down cause there was no more to smoke. My buddy tried to ash stand it again and it fell over... THE ASH STILL DID NOT BREAK. This was one well constructed cigar. Oh, and very tasty too.
