I've been experiencing something a little strange. I have two boxes of one of my favorite cigars, JDN Antano Consul, in my cigar cabinet since June. ROTT the cigars were amazing with a flavor I love from JDN Antanos. The strange thing is as time went on the flavor of them changed and they lost that JDN flavor. I'm thinking that these cigars won't get any better and they may just lose their flavor in the long run. Any thoughts?

If you're wondering, my humidor is kept at 20*C and 65% to 70% RH

my fist question is what other cigars are they with. if any? sometimes cigars if un-cellophaned can steal flavors... that's been my experience. well, mostly with infused cigars. it seems like sometimes in a humidor all the cigars can begin to blend together, i'm not sure why...

Thanks for the reply. The cigars are in a box only with other JDN Consuls. The box is in a cabinet with many other boxes of cigars. I do not keep different cigars together, with only one exception and that is a box with different Cuban robustos that I have in one box. I usually buy cigars by the box so I put the box in my humidor and keep them like that. The cigars will steal the flavors because they pick up the flavors from one another just like in a freezer or refrigerator when foods get taste from one another over time.

Wouldn't you like to know?
My experience with the Antano's is that I generally enjoy them but often find them too strong. The gran consul is a good flavourfull cigar but something is usually need to plan for. I have a couple left from a box that a friend of mines mother brought back for me from nicaragua maybe 10 years ago now. They are still quite strong but I find they are way less punchy then they used to be and way more complex. I find them to be much like cuban cigars in that some prefer punchy young flavours while others prefer well aged delicate smokes. For me I tend to prefer well aged smokes and my tastes have long since gravitated toward more medium smokes. If you tend to prefer them younger and punchier my best suggestion is not to load up too hevily and buy as you need to always have a selection of fresh smoke. Your tastes will always guide you to the best smoke for you.
