Thanks. Good to know. I misspoken then on the MSRP.

Hey J, from my recollection, they were in the $15-16 range MSRP. I"ve seen the full jars go for well over $500 in the secondary market. The original bundles before the jars were better than the jar CG's and the jar CG's were better than IMO anything that Pete's come out with to date. Look at Padron Milleniums. I think they were somewhere in the $25 range when they were out and now try to find one less than $75 per stick. Crazy yes but its all about supply and demand.....

hmmm I'm off today, maybe start it off with a black robusto :) G1

In case you have not seen these before on ebay, you have to sell the band as selling tobacco products is illegal there. All of this is sold as 'collectables'. Also, on the going price right now, pretty much fair market for these.
And because of that they can ship you a jar of dried out unsmokable cigars and as far as ebay is concerned he did no wrong. People selling cigars on ebay is a pet peeve of mine.

I think the Original Black CG were better at release than they are now. I'm glad i have an empty jar, becaue it's F'ing cool, but I would not pay $20 today for 1 of those cigars, but i've smoked more than a handful, so I am content.

Technically yes, you could buy an Opus Box full of OPUS bands for $400 and receive an OPUS box full of paper. Ebay will say the contract was fulfilled. I would ask for private emails with complete pictures.

Yeah I'm just not into paying double for a cigar no matter how good it is or rare it is, even if the price is market value at the time. To many good to great cigars I can buy just by walking into my local B&M.

I bought my first box of cigars ever on there! A box of '07 Anejo 50 "Bands" for 300 and that was backwhen i was "rollin in dough"! They had the original Fuente Humipak in it and everything was fine. Guy did a great job of showing the value in buying his cigars vs. what shop owners were asking "i.e. 6-700.00"

The first one i smoked was awesome! I've seen a tat black jar go for as much as 600 this year "aftermarket".

Auction pulled by seller because it was no longer aavilable. i.e. someone offered him a private sale for a good price.

i.e. Somebody reported him for selling tobacco on ebay and they made him pull it.
No, it wouldn't say "ended by seller" if that was the case. I watched multiple ebay auctions last year when people were posting on BOTL that they reported the auctions. I want to say the auction simply disappeared, but I can't remember for sure. I do know that it didn't say "ended by seller."

You can sell tobacco as long as the collectible value is more than the value of the tobacco.
There's a lot more restrictions that go with that statement. eBay clearly states you cannot sell any tobacco that is meant for consumption. Your statement above is only correct along with this list:

– The value of the item is the collectible packaging, not the tobacco itself.
– The value of the packaging is higher than the current retail price of the tobacco in the package.
– While the package has never been opened, the tobacco inside is not for consumption.
– The collectible packaging is not currently available in stores.
– The buyer must be at least 18 years old. (As the seller, I'm responsible for making sure this rule is met.)
– Both the buyer and the seller are following all applicable laws and shipping regulations for this transaction.

My statement was with out looking at the eBay guidelines, obviously, but thanks for clearing that up.
