Why does it feel like April 1st?
I'll bite
Ok what's the purpose of that humidor or tupperdor is it just to store them? Looks interesting. I think ill pick another kind up today to try it I have to get gas anyway maybe the quickmart will have something. I appreciate all of the welcomes to. This is a very nice forum!
The purpose of the humidor/tupperdor is to maintain humidity in the storage environment. If you don't maintain proper humidity (more commonly referred to as RH) your cigars will dry up and most likely cannot be recovered; once the oils dry out the cigars are no good. I've seen many retailers suggest maintaining a 70% RH, but I personally prefer 65%.

That being said, a tupperdor is an economically efficient means of cigars storage. Although
aging cigars isn't as effective in a tupperdor
without cedar, they are just as effective regarding
storage. It's a good way to start out, especially if you're not totally sure you're ready to dive into the hobby. You will also hear them referred to as coolidors; tupperdors are made out of tupperware or similar plastic storage containers, and coolidors are made out of coolers. You also have wineadors, which are wine coolers used as humidors. In addition to maintaining RH, they also maintain a cooler temperature; cigars should be stored <= 70*F to avoid the hatching of beetles. You cannot use a normal beverage cooler because they use cyclical/compression cooling which removes RH from the environment. Wine coolers, however, use thermoelectric cooling which allows the cooler to maintain RH. Here is a link to the coolidor setup I used to use, which I had great success with:
My First Coolidor.
Regarding cigars, I agree that you should check out some samplers and find out what you like. Personally, I think Diesel or Devil's Weed are a good starting point; they're inexpensive and are a great value for the price. If you enjoy the cigars from "quickmart", then pick 'em up and enjoy! As is frequently quoted here, "smoke what you like and like what you smoke." You'll find higher quality cigars online or in B&Ms, but get what you enjoy! I'd suggest checking out our
