I know one should read the fine print, but just because it is written on an agreement does not mean it is legal right?
Anyway, I was billed for 9-27 through 10-26 and that reminded me that in my effort to downsize with only one income now, I needed to cancel.
One day later on the 28th I logged on, clicked cancel and approved the cancellation. (I again did not read the fine print).
Turns out that when you cancel it becomes effective immediately, no more access, no more use of the period you paid for. Also NO refund is given for any amount pro-rated or not.
And do not try to reactivate your account right after canceling as they will bill you for an additional 7.99 even though you just paid for it.....
Now, I am all for an agreement, but to have an agreement that effectively takes money for services without providing the service or allowing for any recourse is just shady.
On the flip side, all it took was a call asking for a copy of the agreement I acknowledged, to which they said the current one was online but could not provide the one I agreed to (It could have changed), and the address where a summons could be sent and all of a sudden they could refund my 7.99.....
thanks for allowing me to vent and please read the fine print as it could come back to bite ya.
