Has anyone smoked one recently? If so, how are they coming along? I have not smoked my only one, as there were mixed reviews on its release. But I recently purchased a couple more, and was wondering if it is safe to smoke now. Thanks.

Still too young. I'd wait until March comes around at the very least. The robusto sized ones are smoking okay, but I wouldn't fire up the La Verite any time soon.

I had one from Pete himself when he was here in June and it was pretty good but yeah, I'd probably wait another three to four months at least. The flavors were really clean and HOPEFULLY soon I can get Pete on PUre Indulgence.

Only had one, about a month ago. Very clean, high-quality tobacco (smoked like a Boris in terms of burning well and "feeling" great), but VERY little flavor. What flavors there were seem like they will be great, but there just wasn't nearly enough of it at this point.

I think you need to treat these like you would Cubans.

Smoking a robusto right now and enjoying it. Still, I'm going to bury these and try to avoid them for a few years. I think 5-7 years and these have the legendary potential of the black cg's

I just picked up the churchill size today. Do you guys think I should let this sit a while or are the churchills ready to go now? Also, what beverage will pair well with this flavor profile?

With how little flavor there is to this cigar....if you want to actually taste it, probably water to be honest (maybe a light wheat beer).

Personally though, I'd smoke it sometime in 2011, but that's just me.

I do find it surprising though that people think these will be amazing in a few years. I can see that with a stick as full &flavorful as say the Pork Tenderloin or Tat-Rex, but the two i've smoke of the Verites.....leaves nothing for me to believe these will continue to get better and better. Maybe i'm wrong (and I hope I am), but IMO...I don't see that happening.

I actually really enjoy the la verites right now, i think they will no doubt need some age to reach their full potential but they are smoking fine right now in my opinion. Its the robusto's that need a lot of time i feel, they are smoking very rough right now for me.

kpp - do you mind me asking which size(s) you had. I read a lot of reviews that it was mostly the l'esprit (robusto) that had issues.

i personally have only the churchills, so i hope they'll blossom the way everyone thinks they will.

I love the La Verite, you guys just need mind blowing full body strength or it's not a good stick, it seems. I personally prefer flavor and complexity over strength, and the la Verite delivers.

I had one of each....and I certainly thought the La Verite was better of the 2, but not "$20 better".

I can relate to this, as I'm one who didn't love the Tenderloin as much as most did. I thought it was "good", but that is a stick where I see down time could define some of those flavors a little more as opposed to just being so "in your face" as I saw it, and become a truly amazing smoke.

I love a good medium bodied smoke (which is mostly what I smoke I'd say), but for $16 & $20 respectively, the La Verite, and L'Espirit didn't deliver anything more than I couldn't get from say a Viaje Platino, DPG My Father, or a EPC Short Run (all of which I liked better by the way)...just to use a few examples....and all those at a fraction of the price.

The only reason I picked one up today is because I got it for half price ($10) because of a small cracked foot (about 1/4 of an inch). Hopefully it will be worth the $10.

Personally, I love this cigar. It happens to be one of my favorite nc. I think most people came into this cigar with the mindset of it being full body, typical Tatuaje flavors.

I understand that this cigar is expensive, but I pay just the same or less for a Padron.
