They all look good, wish I had the $ to buy a box of all 3. I never like Trinidad sticks much but the Montecristo & Partagas is on my wish list. Any of you brothers pulled the trigger on them are thinking of buying them?

I've heard the previous Trinidad Limitadas were boring, but I love the regular line Trinidads so I'd still like to try the new LE.

i picked up the partagas 2010's and really enjoyed one of them...definitely letting the remaining nine rest though...spent all my money this year on the behike's which i think will be a better investment.

The Trinidads we can get here in the US are very tasty IMHO so I'm guessing that these have to be at least on par if not considerably better.

To me it's not the marquees/brands, it's the sizes. None of the sizes appeal to me. And I'm not going to buy a cigar just to say I have it. I'll let you guys gobble them up

You comparing fakes with the real deal!!:gangfire:

I hve never smoked any fakes so I dont know how the taste but I cant imagine they would ever come close to what real cubans taste like, that is just mho.

They are not fakes... They are not claimed to be CC... It is simply a Trinadad made in DR. Nothing fake about em.

The are fake Trinidad, it might be a very good cigar I dont know but you cant just steal a brands name and make it "real". There is a lot of politics behind this and the embargo makes sure the the Habanos Brands are not safe. If Cuba Tomorrow would start building a car and call it GM it wouldnt be a GM just because they say so! I understand where you are coming from but try to see it from another view, if I would start making a cigar and call it a Fuente it would be a fake Fuente! Not a Swedish Fuente but a fake!

I'll call it a trademark dispute until the embargo is lifted. They can settle all trademark disputes for all marquee names then. Until then, it's Trinidad and non-cuban Trinidad.

But, some of these trademark disputes are a non-issue simply because Imperial Tobacco has trademarks to some cuban cigar names already. And who acquired 50% of Habanos SA in 2000, Altadis did. Imperial Tobacco acquired Altadis in 2008. So, it's very diluted with who owns what. I like to call this positioning for when the embargo drops they can go ahead and supply cuban cigars to the USA without issue for some brands.

 if I recall I'm not the one that changed it. Just adding to the conversation

Do you still go by boxcodes ever since Habanos SA started rotating the codes factories use? Just curious...

If I buy something that is made in the DR, and called "Cohiba Behike 56" it is just a Dominican ver. of the cigar, not a fake... If I buy a box of "Cohiba Behike 56" Cubans in HIALEAH,FL and they are made with banana leaf and bands printed on a PC, those are fakes... claiming to be Cuban. The DR made cigars do not claim to be Cuban...

And it all depends on whether you think the marque resides with the pre-Castro owner of the brand or the factory. For the most part the non-cuban marques were started by the original holders of the brand when they left Cuba. The Cuban marques are the cigars produced in the original factory even if the 'trademark holder' had left Cuba.

For example Partagas was owned by Cifuentes y Cía and manufactured in the 'Partagas ' factory (since renamed the "Francisco Pérez Germán" factory) until the '50's when Castro took over. He offered Ramon Cifuentes the job of running the new Cubatobacco arm of the government but instead the family fled to (i think) Jamaica and then after 17 years to the DR where they set up the new Partagas factory and began to produce cigars for General Tobacco.

The Partagas factory in Cuba continued to produce the Partagas, Bolivar and other brands the whole time..

For sure the Cuban cigar is the original cigar, but which is the 'genuine' cigar is a bit more dificult to determine.....

Check out my new website (shameless plug) for histories of the other cuban marques

http://www.lacasadelhabanoplayadelcarmen.com

in the 'our cigars' section....
oh, and its the first website I've ever built so go easy on me please if you don't like it....

anyway, back to the topic in hand, we should be getting the '10 limited editions in any day now, will post box pictures and maybe a review or two when they land...
