Yep, checked the bands vs that sight and all looked ok but the Behike and you really had to look hard to tell the subtle differences. Will be going to LCDH in the next few days. Some more help for you...This is the foremost expert in the realm of Cuban cigars, and this site is packed with useful info: http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/
Side by side comparison photos would likely be appreciated by newer BOTLs if you have the time.Thought I would wrap up this thread now that I am home. Went to LCDH on the Island and bought an equivalent of the loose sticks I bought from the other store(plus many more) for direct comparison. Conclusion was all were fake including the Hoya and Partagas. The Monte was too close to call so if it was a fake it was very good. I will say they were very good fakes and the only way to tell was a side by side comparison and even at that you really had to look hard to spot the differences. The tells to me were the embossing was not as sharply defined and some of the lettering was not as sharp as the genuine sticks. So lesson learned is know your source. Fortunately i did not go in too deep on the initial purchases so I was not out too much but hopefully it will save another inexperienced Habanos brother some money and regret. Thanks again for all of the input it is greatly appreciated.
This ......Grand Caymans tend to give one a better chance at getting the real thing and there is an LCDH there that is authentic...but be prepared to pay for the authenticity of your smokes. I come here to get my Havana Club Rum and mule it back to the states onboard the cruise ships...haven't had an issue getting it home as I drive down to Miami or FLL and drive it back to Atlanta.Grand Cayman is the only place in the Carribean that I've been to that had authentic CC's. Stores have a certificate of authentication posted in the shops too.
