Just got released from the hospital. At 4:00 I lost feeling in my fingers, feet and face. Freaked me out totally. The wife slams me into the hospital where they have spent the last 8 hours strapped to cardio monitor while they ran every test Blue Cross would pay for. I have more holes in me than a pin cushion and have experienced every machine in te damn place.

When all is said and done the doc says, "Do you have a stressful job"? and then, "Do you smoke"? Well yeah. Who doesnt? In other words, no conclusion. So now Im supposed to relax and smoke less. I get to join the one a day club. SO no more marathon cigar days for ole CWS.

So I'm smoking my one: 1998 Boli PC. Hey its late.

Hey Chuck hope your feeling better. I tell ya, gettin old ain't for sissies.

Some good things from the one a day smoking club.

1. You can taste your food again, of course that means you'll gain weight.

2. You smoke less, you save money, of course you rationalize your thinking, that since your only smoking one it should be a great one and you start looking for 15-30 year old cigars at Christies.

3. You smoke less, you have more time for the important things in life, you spend it searching the web looking for #2 above.

4. You smoke less, your sense of smell returns you start to appriciate the scents youv'e been missing, scent of a woman, flowers, clean air (oops sorry I forgot you live in CA) the scent of a cigar someone lit 2 miles away........... you'll be be Jones'n for a stick the rest of the day.

5. You become the designated breather at herfs.

6. You will start checkin out the White Owl and Dutch Masters display at Walgreens and CVS........

7. It will save you money at the car wash, you only have to do the express wash..........that way they don't ruin the stale cigar smell inside the car you've learned to love.

8. It will sharpen your decision making skills, should I have my one in the morning with the paper or tonight after dinner, of course it might rain tonight so I will smoke it now with coffee. Then it dosen't rain and you spend all night pissed cause you had a PC this morning (had to get to the Honey do list) and you were planning on an 18 yr. old Sir Winnie for this evening.

9. It will teach you restraint, as your wife mentions not to worry, you can have the Sir Winnie tomorrow night........ you don't tell her to f**K off and die.

10. Teaches anger management to almost Zen levels as you discover the next night the Sir Winnie is plugged tighter than a horse's ass in deer fly season and you don't use the torch lighter to set your house on fire.

Get better and we will go hide somewhere and smoke two when nobody's watching.

I am sorry to hear this, I hope you feel better. I know it can be hard but try to relax as much as possible. And if you join the one a day club you can now take the money you were spending on some every day smokes and spend a little more on some very very good smokes. Plus I am a 33 year old with 2 young kids so if I get 2 cigars a week that is an awsome week so I can hopefully realy enjoy the ones I do smoke. Take care of yourself.

Sounds like bad oxygen exchange, might be do to high level of CO in body? Just a guess and certainly hope your better Chuck.

The body always tells us what we need to know, we just need to figure out what it is telling us. Moderation is the key. Do not dismiss this sign soon as you are better. I think the doctor is right here, take it easy brother.

...... Nice post Ken

Hope all is well with you now. Did they happen to check for any Brain Aneurysm? A friend of mine had similar symptoms awhile back and he was diagnosed with an aneurysm.

Good to hear you are still with us. That was some scary stuff, to be sure. With those symptoms, I immediately thought of a stroke. It was wise of your wife to immediately take you to the hospital. It's is discouraging that they didn't have any definitive answers for you ... but good to know that it's obviously nothing major. Take care.

Glad to hear you are back home.

If you believe in it, positive reinforcement could really help you out.

Every morning when you wake up chant "DO NOT FUCKING DIE" 15 times.

It works for me.:stretchgr

Glad that it appears to be nothing serious. If it happens again, get back to that hospital! Don't blow it off as nothing wrong since they didn't find anything this time.
