Just got released from the hospital. At 4:00 I lost feeling in my fingers, feet and face. Freaked me out totally. The wife slams me into the hospital where they have spent the last 8 hours strapped to cardio monitor while they ran every test Blue Cross would pay for. I have more holes in me than a pin cushion and have experienced every machine in te damn place.

When all is said and done the doc says, "Do you have a stressful job"? and then, "Do you smoke"? Well yeah. Who doesnt? In other words, no conclusion. So now Im supposed to relax and smoke less. I get to join the one a day club. SO no more marathon cigar days for ole CWS.

So I'm smoking my one: 1998 Boli PC. Hey its late.
Holy shit Chuck! You feelin' fine now?

How frightening.

I am very glad you are ok bud.

Wow, just read this.

Chuck, my man, hope you're better; damn, that must have been scary.

Do us and your family a favor, get a second opinion and a thorough work-up and stress test.

:peace:

Thats what I told the ER DOc. I forgot to mention the best part. WHen this all happened I called my regular doc. He says I cant treat you because he switched to Kaiser. He wont even refer me to someone. His nurese only said, "That doesnt sound good." So I'm freaking out with no doctor. The ER doc was great though. What he really said was a cigar every other day. I said what? He repeats. We go through this for a while and settled on one a day. I'm going to sell all my PC 's and buy all DC's.:glassesgr

I get to go see a specialist now and got the day off.

Damn Chuck that's some scary crap to go through. I'm glad you're feeling better and I'll send some prayers your way that it won't happen again. I always blame the stressful job first, then talk about my vices. I know it had to scare your wife to no end.

BTW, in order to facilitate your long term health, I'll be needing to see some of them PCs.

Take it easy Chuck

also ask you new doc if one to two glasses of red wine a day will help.
(then you will have a new obsession.....like me!)

Chances are it could be stress from the job. What was you BP in the ER?
Your heart rate? Has he changed your diet? They probably drew blood every 4 hours to check for enzymes in the heart that indicates a heart attack.

PM me if you have questions

Good god Chuck, I had no Idea!!:eyequiver So sorry to hear this. Definitely keep on the docs as even if they don't know what's wrong, your body is telling you otherwise. Keep us posted and good luck.

Yeah sort of. Went to see the neurologist. He says its not stress as my reflexes are all screwy. He has ordered every test known to man for next week. MRI, MRA electrical leg ananlysis...blah blah blah. Says I'm a quandry with too many things going on. Just what I wanted to hear. Says it could be a small stroke or blood flow limitation in the base of the brain. Great. Got a major lecture on cigars re stroke and heart attack. Back on aspirin.

First we have to find out the issue, then to the possible rehab. Now to see if the insurance will pay for all this.

Thank you for all the nice notes.

Wow. I really hope it all ends up being something simple. What ever their advice is, take it and do it...regardless of what you may have to sacrifice.
