The problem for those of us that are still fairly new to CCs is not knowing what to buy and aging a bunch of cigars for 5 years to find out is a fairly daunting task. I don't disagree with anything you wrote, just adding a bit to the discussion.
None of us know what to buy without asking what has worked well in the past. That's how I've done it, reading up on what seems to consistently age very well, then cross my fingers that I didn't just waste 5 years. If you have room, you can take a risk and try some others out.
No matter what anybody says, it's a bit of a gamble when it comes to aging cigars.
