I started to read it, but was to outraged to finish.

Can someone help me out here? I honestly thought that by taking an oath to protect doesn't meant that you can turn around and be the same petty scumbag you swore you would help protect against. What is this officer's problem?

For that matter, can I turn around and sue the people of Panama for the injuries I suffered while down there helping them out with Noriega?

Give her a UA, you know she's going to fail. Only a crackhead could think up a scam like this.

I'm sorry to hear another cop is adding to bad stereotypes. What a BITCH.

In no way am I defending the officer for her actions, but all pools at homes with small children should be gated for this reason. That should be an enforceable law.

So terrible, I can't imagine having to continue living an dtaking care of my invalid child knowing it was my fault. It would be easier on the family had he died. All in God's plan, but so tragic. We all need to pray for that family.

Terrible, some people just can't see the larger picture and think of others.

I'm sure your knee hurts, but you took an oath as an officer to protect and serve knowing the dangers involved, be them small or large.

LAWYER: Hello, Officer Eichhorn. I'd heard that you were injured during that baby rescue earlier this year.

COP: Yes, I hurt my leg and was out for two months. Thankfully, the city insurance plan covered my costs.

LAWYER: Really. Well what if I were to tell you that we could still sue the family? You know, pain and suffering, emotional anguish, the usual BS. Both you and I could make a wad of cash.

COP: Hmm...

Yes, I am. I usually assume that most misguided lawsuits are driven by greedy lawyers. Pardon the redundancy.

Be interesting to see what the judge will do. No doubt dismiss it, but the family should turn around and sue her.

Her obvious observations skills weren't working that day.

You know, I'm thankful for police and the job they do, but incidents like this really make me shake my head. If this officer is in that much of a financial bind that two months of partial pay have her involved in a fairly classless lawsuit ... then I would start to wonder what other kind of stuff she might be into. Protection payoffs from local scumbags ... drug or money evidence "missing" ... etc.

I hope her fellow officers are giving her a daily razzing over this ...

Sad state of affairs for our legal system. I dont care who is suing or what they do for a living.
