As an IT Manager for the City I work for I can tell you that the pressure from the Council, the City Attorney, the City Manager and the Police Chief, had to be insurmountable. The fact that they suspended her shows that she probably has a clause in her Memorandun of Understanding (MOU) which prohibits her from bringing suit. In our sworwn officers MOU's there is a clause which states that as a result of receiving Hazard Pay, they cannot bring claims against the City for certain issues. That and the fact that she was paid...

She's still a piece of work who at minimum deserves a suspension. Imagine the citizens, they are thinking twice about calling 911.

You decide.

As a former Police Officer I probably lean far to the right in my support of them as I know how hard they work and the pressures they face. However, in this case I cannot side with this officer's actions.

As a current Police Officer, this sickens me. Accidents and injuries are par for the course in this profession. Kudos to the department for putting her out to pasture....somewhere this cow needs to be permanently. We fight so hard for respect and trust, just to have a greedy tool like this destroy it with such ease.

Shameful!

i'm not sure i totally agree here,,, i would be upset with my union if my MOU precluded me from lawsuits. in particular, filing suit for slander,,, i've had a few unpleasantry's which have led to internal affairs complaints,,, and the complaintants were flat out liars! on more than one occasion, the threat of a civil lawsuit from civil police-represented attorneys has calmed the waters. and, to threaten me with suspension sounds absurd!

i'd bet the suspension had nothing to do, per say, with her lawsuit, but for the fact that she's a leach!!
