Some here say it doesn't burn well (Corojo), but I've never had a problem. I've had more problems with commercial sticks not burning than anything I've run across that we roll.

It's almost hard not to get a decent tasting stick with what we have. You'd really have to screw it up. For example, the only one I rolled that I didn't like was too much seco, so I've learned to lean a little heavier on the thicker leaves.
At the moment I know little about blending.
I'm looking for suggestions on flavor profiles.

It would be nice if we had a dedicated section where home rollers could post their comments on the current leaf quality and flavor profile.

Maybe too a thread dedicated solely to blends and a description of the blend profile.

Make a thread and tag is in it! I'll contribute what I can.

I usually take a blend of 4-5 types of leaves, and 2-3 of them are usually ligero or at least viso. I like my sticks smooth and very flavorful. Lots of flavorless smoke is not enjoyable to me. I've tried a lot of leaves, and I've tried them pure. I've found the taste I get from puros not indicative of how they will taste once blended with something else and some humidor time. The flavors completely change for me. It would be like tasting raw egg and trying to figure out how that contributes to a chocolate cake recipe. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. As long as my blend has the right amount of flavor power, I'll enjoy it. I was grossed out at the wlt Corojo seco when I tried it pure, but it blends really well with the more powerful stuff, yet it is more flavorful than the lo nic seco.

I have not posted as many of my adventures. I have tried to do more listening than talking as of late.
It's the old take the cotton out of your ears and put them in your mouth so to speak.

The humidity in the box seems quite high so I feel my gars are still pretty moist

The last batch dropped nicely after a few days. So I expect the last round to drop as well.

I have 2 WLT kits expected to arrive tomorrow and I will post the leaves on that thread and jump on rolling a few of those. I will add those in this thread.

The cap set and another kit isn't gonna be here until Tuesday next week. LO kills me on how long it takes to ship.

Do you guys care about the humidity on dry boxing these guys or is it all a matter of time and patience. I know I have to learn patience. But dammit I want to change the world overnight!IMG_8374.JPG

The stash is growing and can't wait to get some time on these to burn. How long till these are peak for burning. I will still get one out for a test run.

I will post my updates on the kits tomorrow as soon as they arrive.

I find they are best after 2 months usually. Keep up the good work! Try and use a little less moisture if you can and they will dry out faster.

Thanks brother will do. I am probably spraying too much water. I'm putting them in a big ziplock next time. So hopefully not so much spraying if I prep better.
Still experimenting and getting the feel and divin in head first.
Thanks bro have a great weekend.

Blend tasting. The ligero wrapper is really good. The Mexican San Andreas not so much for me. Perhaps with the correct blend I'd like it but so far, not.

They ain't pretty, but I didn't intend them to be.
San andreas plays well with Nicaraguan spicy/pepper notes. What flavors are you going for?

Thanks for the tip.

Hard to describe but some pepper bite with long cedar finish also some background sweetness.
Sweetness... mata fina
Pepper... nicaraguan ligero or seco
Cedar... sometimes see that with corojo seco

Earth, wood, horseshitiness... Colombian seco ;) yum

This is the first time I have seen someone use yum to describe horseshit. I'm enjoying going through the home rollers section. Starting to peek my interest a little.

View attachment 100723 This one has been in my "Dry box" for 10 days, not much different from initial rolls, still very fruity (Raisins) and still kind of one note but good.
Have 20 of these in storage.
Dude! That's a great looking stick
I just today I learned to put different tobacco in different places in the stick which ads flavor profile interest
