T-13 viso brings a nice white pepper to the front-middle of the tongue.
I like it.
1 Nicaraguan Jalapa ligero (Leaf Only)
1.5 T-13 viso. (Small leaf)
1/2 Brazilian viso
1 Dominican seco
Ecuadorian binder
Ecuadorian ligero wrapper (my favorite)
Slice of fronto- gives a nice rich tobacco flavor when used sparingly.
Flat layering method of bunching was used.

These I’ll make more of, tomorrow I hope. I’m interested to see how they age for 5-6 months at least.

Had a hard time rolling it tight enough. I feel like it’s a bit loose. It’s not super loose, but definitely doesn’t feel as tight as it should be. Dry draw is okay though I feel it’s a bit loose. Hopefully it burns correctly :nailbiting:. Used all Nicaragua Seco Esteli ordered from LO. It smells like funky ass feet. Hopefully it tastes better than it looks and smells...lol. Hope it has some spice to it like some of the Nicaraguan cigars I’ve smoked; but then again, I’ve never had a purple of all one priming. We shall see first thing in the morning. Leaves came dry but not brittle. Playable but not moist, so I feel like the leaf should burn well. 4AAAA438-3309-4ED5-8C4E-98EEC87F8A6F.jpegCD7293E3-79CE-4CAD-95C8-B241A4F67F42.jpeg

Looks great!
Good job. Each time one is rolled something new is learned.
Thanks! but maaaaaan you see how loose the foot is?? I wasn’t focusing on pulling it tight as I rolled, but I started semi making the correction 1/4th of the way down. It’s still ugly as hell though lol. So the head is a bit tighter, but overall, Its still a bit too loose. Better luck next try I guess.

It looks 100 percent better than any of my first 10 cigars.

What I call the “home-roll pioneers” who have paved the way for the rest of us by producing their videos and by the advice they freely offer on BOTL have made it easier for the rest of us.

Without that help, home cigar making would be pretty difficult.

Yessir. Man I spent like a month looking at this content before I decided to make that leap. I really enjoyed it as well. I’m a full time painter and tattoo artist and it almost felt like when I’m painting or tattooing (therapy/expression). It was very liberating. I’m going to (try to) roll again tonight and tomorrow night and Saturday night and.....etc.....

Those videos are a blessing!!! I probably would have rolled a waffle cone!!! Lol... very thankful for the guys that are generous enough to share their experinces and teach as they learn. The benefit in teaching is definitely learning as well.

So I smoked the Nicaraguan Seco (Esteli) that was rolled last night.
The leafs does not smell good at all. Smells like funky ass feet. However when the leaf is lit; it takes on a nice and very pleasant anise aroma. When taking in the smoke; the seco leaf is very mild in strength, but very smooth on the smoke. It also leaves a nice cayenne spice on the retrohale and a long cayenne finish on the middle of the tongue and tip of the lips. I’m from the south, so it almost reminds me of when your done eating a table full of fresh boiled crawfish that was thoroughly seasoned and your lips get that spicy tingle that lasts for a while?? That’s how the finish was in my opinion. Definitely enjoyed the flavor. Very basic, just those two characteristics for me (mild aromatic anise tasting and spicy). It surprisingly burned well for me though the draw was super loose due to my inadequate rolling skills...lol... hopefully I’ll do better with time. 9F6B29E8-4026-4FFC-9B8F-171B9DB5C34C.jpeg7B13C965-CC71-469B-A115-11A6AB67CB38.jpeg 9A9A3057-06B7-4EE8-B836-F8E190BE5C87.jpeg9F51E52A-92C0-4C42-B581-942E07D00FB4.jpeg

Absolutely. If I rolled straight ligero. Would it sill burn??
My personal favorite blend is straight ligero filler. I use a double seco binder and a thin wrapper to make sure it burns well, but I have no issues. Just don't roll it a jaw breaker and you will be fine. Keep rolling and posting your results! I loved hearing your post about the cayenne. I lived in Louisiana for a few years when I was young and will be adding that leaf to my kit for sure. Love me some cayenne
