That's it! With all this talk about rum and tequila, i'm going home to hit the bottle. Gonna pick up a bottle of Sauza for the wifey's margeritas and i'm goin straight to the appletons and diet.

It's on like Donkey Kong!!! Yee Haw!

Hi there, I run tequilagringo.com. Naturally, there are some good recommendations there for you to check out.

Based on what you wrote, I'd say you should look at the anejo's (just click "best anejos"). They pick up a lot of flavor from the barrel that I bet would interest you. I'd also say Jetexas' list was a pretty good place to start too.

If you don't feel like going over there - start with Casa Noble Anejo and Don Julio 1921 (they're expensive, but man, they're so very good).

Enjoy!

So, last night I tried a double Patron Anejo on the rocks with salt on the rim and several lime wedges. Sorta like the the worlds strongest Margarita. Paired it with a fantastic grilled Sea Bass. Great meal. The drink was ok, but with the salt, ice, lime and full meal, I don't know that I was able to appreciate the tequila. I think I need to find some place that does tequila flights.

Having begun my Tequila journey I have discovered Trago Respesado. Not many places carry it, but if you can find it, TRY IT!! It is the best f'n stuff ever. Very smooth, fruity, no bite at all. Don't ruin it in a Margarita. I like it over ice with a lime wedge on the side. Damn, its good!!
