Craig, I agree with you. They come out with new crap every year so that you can get rid of your 2 year old tv and buy a new one. If my new TV lasts 10 years, I will not be buying another for 10 years. I dont care if new technology has live, naked girls jumping out of the TV, I will not buy it.

well, I might make an exception.

OK, whats everyones opinion now based on the fact that I should have been born 200 years agao?
Damn, Ron. I thought you WERE born 200 years ago!

Seriously, though, if you're thinking at all about buying an HD set, that tells me you care about picture quality. That said, why wouldn't you go with 1080? What's the price difference in the tvs you're looking at?

You will be fine with a 720p tv if you don't plan on using blu-ray or anything like that. Grab something like a Vizio and you should be happy with it for the price.

I bought my tv today. I went to buy the Panasonic, it was going to cost me $430. while I was there, I also looked at the samsung 42" plasma. I really liked the picture on the samsung a lot better than the Panasonic. it was funny cause the couple next to us were deciding on the same thing. which one to get, we both went samsung. anyway, i got the samsung for $460. heres the model.
