Member here, I believe they were handing out free memberships sometime last year. Great move considering the political situation we're in.

I am a member for the obvious reasons mentioned previously.

I used to think that the magazine was decidedly inferior to the newsstand regulars ( Guns and Ammo, etc. ), but they have declined and American Rifleman has dramatically improved. Stephen Hunter ( of Bob Lee Swagger's immortal fame ) is writing for them regularly. Great change of pace from the run-of-the-mill .243 Win vs 6 mm Rem rehash, or even worse, "9mm vs .45?" trash.

Abso-freakin'-lutley. I've been a member for 11 years, my wife is a member, and my son became a member recently. While I don't agree with every decision they've made, the NRA serves a vital role. Plus, the magazine is great, and the sticker in the window of my pickup tends to piss off all the right people.

I was at one point but stopped because of all the mailings asking for donations all the time. Now that I know about the "do not promote" thing, I might start up again. Also a member of MCA.

Lifetime member here, and then like 12 other membership names since then. I make it a point to give to them. They pool all of our money and pay the best lawyers to against the opposition's best lawyers.

We need them, for far too many reasons to state in a post.

The Obama White House and anti-gun lawmakers mislead, blaming years of Mexican corruption on American gun owners. Criminals and drugs flood through the border, and Americans like NRA Life member Robert Krentz-cut down in cold blood-pay the price.

What's the administration's answer? Not border security-they want to disarm law-abiding gun owners. And when they blame our guns, they make it our fight. Get the facts about Mexican dishonesty and death, and its connection to a domestic anti-gun agenda, from this NRANews exclusive filmed at the border. Discover what you can do to protect your Second Amendment rights now.

I've enjoyed the magazines for years and it has lead me to some great hunts. It doesn't hurt to try it for a year and go from there. I did the same thing with BASS almost 20 years ago, but after one year became a lifetime member.
