I am 34. I have a Myspace account that I use for staying in contact with friends and sharing pictures. I can easily keep in contact with my college friends who have moved on to other parts of the world. Plus, there are several privacy features to keep out the spammers. There are also a number of cigar manufacturers/companies/shops.

34. Got pulled into Facebook by my highschool class finally tracking me down for an upcoming reunion. It's interesting, that's for sure. Amazing how much info some people have on their site. I saw one earlier where someone had their cell phone number on their profile.

I'm 37 and I've got accounts all over the place on all sorts of social network sites.

The problem is that I've literally got a metric fuckton of "old friends" and "psycho ex-girlfriends" and "fuck buddies" and "college buddies" and "random acquaintances" that I want absolutely nothing to do with now. I mean listen, if I wanted to be friends, wouldn't I have kept in touch in the first place??? Duh!

Social networking websites make it far too easy for E-Stalkers to find you. :squinteye
I know what you mean, that is why mine is private and my profile pic is unrecognizable, that way when I get the crazy ex hitting me up asking if it is me I just say "sorry, not who you think"

I'm on Facebook--and anyone of you who doesn't add me as a friend will have personally offended me! lol.

I'm usually the first "Nate Johnstone" that comes up, but my profile picture is my baby and I dressed as monks.

I think that the Facebook type of social networking is a Postmodern thing as opposed to a strictly generational thing. But either way I qualify...turning 31 on Friday.

I'm on Facebook. Lots of people I inadvertently lost touch with from HS and College. Not great friends, but still nice to see pics of their kids, see what their up to, etc.

I'm 36 and used to work as a software developer, so the whole social network thing is pretty much in my age/demographic zone.

Postmodern.

I do not think it means what you think it means.
And I don't know if you think it means what I think it means, but to me it refers to art and architecture after a certain date, around 1988 I think when Michael Graves designed some city hall and Philip Johnson designed the AT&T Buidling. Which means that it's another way to say GENERATIONAL.

Facebook is one of the worst places on all of the internet in my opinion. That and Myspace. Be very very careful what you click around on those sites. They are havens for viruses and trojans. My recommendation as an IT professional and network administrator is to stay away from them. They just aren't worth the risk they pose. Be very wary of the "apps" that are available for your page. There are a lot of malicious apps floating around on both Facebook and Myspace. If you use them you have to be very careful and very discriminating about what you click on.

There is a reason a lot of corporate IT departments block those sites and it isn't about productivity, it is about security.
