Don't want to step on toes, but most likely I will. The truth is that there is a standard that we expect from certain professional and when someone in that profession does something stupid it hurts the whole profession. There are are a number of dumb cop just like there are a number of dumb nurses/doctors, businessmen and any other profession that hurt their profession do to their stupidity.

If you want to hear generalization just talk about businessmen or doctors. They're greety, don't care about the normal guy, etc... You name it and its been said, when in reality we wouldn't have the type of lives we live without these types of people, nor do most of professionals fit into that category. In fact most of them are your normal everyday Joe.

Well, they filed criminal charges on the one deputy in this case. But, not all cops are bad! Been said before, won't say it again. One bad apple spoils the whole bunch!

Yes, Drew, Cops get a bad rap, but I'm not seeing it here:

That's a blemish on the officers that do their job and do it right.

Indeed, Police forces are comprised of about 5-10% of those who if they were toilet paper you would not wipe with. The others are upstanding and deserving of our respect.

I'm just saying that too often people lump all cops into one category, that they are all in cahoots with each other. The vast majority of cops are good people, that's all I'm saying.

All I'm saying is you are barking up the wrong tree in this thread.

It happens in every profession that if someone messes up it hurts the entire professions image for a certain time in the media.

Lawyers, doctors, businessmen, teachers, stock brokers, restaurant workers, construction workers, pilots...the list goes on.
