Castrol Syntec is actually part Synth and part conventional oil.

As for myself, Mobil 1 with the Purolator PureOne filters, every 4500-6000 depending on the time of year in a 99 Jeep Cherokee (4.0L w/ 80k) and 03 Mazda3 (34k).

I had to do a lot of research into oil and filtration systems for the one project I've been involved with at work. The army has requested a central oil system for an entire truck so that everything can use the same lube and extend drain/service intervals if possible.

I Work for a Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche dealer...we have a few diffrent types of oils I believe we have a mobil 1 synthetic blend, and a castrol syntec....as well as a fully synthetic oil for both brands.....But my advise on oil is not so much what brand you use it is how offten it is changed.....also I have seen people come in with engine problems from using a smaller oil filter then what is recomended so it is important to get the right filter!!!
