and after owning a sawmill and 2 woods crews and spending a large part of my life in the logging industry, I have PLENTY of chainsaw scars to prove it does happen

I use CHI. It's a leave in conditioner and you can find it in most supermarkets in the hair care section. It's pricey....about $25 a bottle but you only need a dime-sized amount or so. Makes my beard nice and soft plus it stays in place (no messy beard later on).
Nice thread. I've been thinking about getting some beard wax or balm for a bit. Decided to order some Grave Before Shave and Maestos Classic balms. Also picked up a Sandalwood pocket comb.
Ive been using grapeseed oil on my beard and as a lotion. Could use some balm though. Gonna check some of the recommendations out for that. Thanks for all the input.

I'm really liking the Grave Before Shave balm, it leaves a very nice sheen on my beard all day. Both the Grave Before Shave and Maestros have food hold and are a good product.

I recently started growing a handlebar on top of my goatee. In addition to their 'stache wax, I picked up a bottle beard oil from CanYouHandlebar.com. I have no basis for comparison but it's nice stuff. I got the unscented oil but they also offer two scented varieties. They also have a "dry beard oil" that I guess is a balm.
