Yuck. Way too sweet for an IPA. Not my thing at all...give me a west coast IPA any day over this.

Something about rye that makes a beer sweet. I really have to overcompensate with hops when I use rye in beers to counteract the sweetness. Reminds me I need to brew my rye IPA in the near future.

I think that's what they tried to do here -- add more hops to mask the sweetness. It worked about as well as a smelly Frenchman dousing himself in cologne.
