FINALLY........I'm able to say +1 to this!

THIS is an excellent beer. Gives Pliny a run for it's money....only a little bit smoother (as opposed to "crisp") on the finish due to the slight malty sweetness that gives it a nice balance. Hops are a bit stickier here as well, giving it a longer lasting finish.

Prefer this to the Hopslam as well.....easily.

Thanks for the chance at tryin' this one Justin!

Damn Kyle, you always make me thirsty!?! LOL I really want to try both the dust and hopslam but your description makes me think I will prefer the Pliny as I like the "crisp" taste of it over a malty finish. Don't get me wrong... I like a malty finish every now and then, but I love the finish of the Pliny!

Hopslam is hoppy, malty and boozy. But, I don't mind that at all  Pliny is just pleasant hop aroma with citrus flavors mixed in and a crisp finish. It's very well done and balanced.

I had an Aprihop yesterday. Good beer but too caramel sweetness for me with not enough hop flavor/aroma. Seems they tried to take up the flavor and aroma of hops with the apricot. I stupidly bought a case of it. Hope the wife likes it (she probably will she likes caramely IPAs).

Then I went to my favorite Belgian restaurant and had a Monks Flemish on tap, and then ordered a Petrus Aged Pale Ale with my food. The wife had a De Dolle Arabier which was quite nice with a slight brett flavor.

Pliny is, and perhaps always will be for me, the standard to which all other IPAs are judged (DIPA or otherwise). Compared to say a DFH 90, which is significant in the malt dept, that Zombie Dust was no where close to that. Malts weren't overdone and allowed the quality of the hop to come through...which is what I prefer.

As Cliff mentioned...Hopslam also has a nice malt balance, but the booze is pretty evident. I don't mind it all that much, and its enjoyable at times, but I think that's part of the beauty of a good craft beer....being able to disguise the alcohol with flavor. Part of why I really didn't care for the DFH 120 to be honest.

Had a couple Nugget Nectar's last night with Crypto, good stuff. Might have to grab a few more.
Shipping them to SC might be one of the reasons why I cannot buy any even being with in 10 miles of the brewery. One of my local distributors only got seven cases worth. Someone is fucking something up.
