Truthfully, acids got me into cigars. They didn't taste like a normal American short fill drugstore cigar, nor did they taste like a gas station flavored cigar. They were different, and good, and I liked them. Because of that line, I found myself in the humidor at my local b&m more and more. When they had an event night, I tried a General LGC don't recall the vitola but I remember thinking that it had a lot more flavors than I expected in a non-flavored cigar. So, I started exploring the humidor there, and subsequently fell off the cliff, got my footing only for you asshats to shove me down the slope.

Some great ideas here but i would personally recommend a RP the Edge Lite. I think its more flavorful then quite a few Connie wrapped sticks and the strength remains on the low side. Plus lots of newbies like going with a major brand name, which RP certainly is.
If you're with a guy who just had a meal you could probably step up the strength of a cigar, especially if you tell him to order something with caffeine to counterbalance the affects of nicotine. In that case I would recommend a CyB Lonsdale or Corona Real. The flavor is far better than any Connie I've ever had and the extra strength could be easily counterbalanced by taking those few extra sticks. Plus it has the added benefit of being cheaper on deal sites like cigarmonster so that the perspective newbie can easily grab more at a great price if they like them.

CC... only way to go! (Actually had a buddy who smoked a CC for his first. He inhaled the whole thing and was sick for hours. haha. Didn't scare him tho cause he still smokes to this day.)

... I kid. Mild to full. Would stay away from the dark-knock you on your ass- cigars like La Gloria Series R and Liga's. I still can't handle those very well.
