Best Young Cigar

I'll second the Monte #2s -- I smoked an '04 yesterday and it was great. After reading this thread, I think I'll try an '04 PSD4 today.

out of the 04's I tried I thought the PSD 4's,like some others have stated,were the tastiest by far.I also liked the PLPC's that I tried,they were very nice.I'm wondering if I should've cracked my Trini RE's...anyone try their RE's and love 'em?Since the 04's are tasty now,I'm wondering if I'm missing something. :-s

PSD4 and it was close to the best ever. It was an 03, a year ago last fall. Friend brought a box when he returned from Sweden.

I think most cigars are real good before they fall a sleep. So I say VR:s; DA, Unico and Famoso. Smoked some estupendo Cohibas fresh aswell. Bolivar belicosos and Monte no 2 also. List could go on, some don´t like them fresh - but I like both fresh and aged.

My smoking bro has been smoking cuban cigars for over 25 yrs. He doesn´t think aged cigars are all that. He says they´re good and refined with nice flavours and all BUT that they lack that special omph he likes. I guess he´s one of those spanish/cuban/swedish veteran smokers MRN writes about :-D .

I think Cuba has made great strides in the quality of their product in both '03 and '04. I can't think of any young guns, that I didn't enjoy smoking, from late '03 and all '04 production. Young meaning within 6 months of production date, after that it can get dicey, especially with the PSD4's.
Of course you have to disregard the occasional plugged / tight draw sticks.

Alot of us talk about aging but what is the best young cubano that you have tried??

i recently did a box split of some robustos/hermoso 4s with some newbies on another board, and the PSD4s we got were from Oct 04. had one a week ago, and it reminded me of why a PSD4 was the best cigar i've ever had. the power was back...
