Question, while I was surfing the auctioneer site today I noticed a BOTL whose handle I recognized, had the high bid on some Four Kicks. If it wasn't him, I would have bid on them. I did it out of BOTL courtesy knowing I'd get at them a week from now or whenever. Thinking about this, I changed my screen name to KK33 so you all would recognize me. Does everyone use their same screen name as on here for those sites? I am also assuming that we would all back off in this similar instance.

Couple years ago a good friend of mine swooped in at the very last second and stole a lighter I really wanted right out from under me ...then bombed me with it a week later!

Other than in that kind of situation, yeah I'll back off if I know the guy.

I know a few years ago a lot of us were on cigar bid a lot..........

So we worked out some system so BOTL folks would know who it was. I can't recall now what we did, but I just stay off there.......to much money spent.

Absolutely! If I recognize a brother, I always leave his bid alone. With that said, it will take some time before I recognize the folks here.

On my previous board (Cbid), my name did not match what I bid under on other sites. Now I'm Argus17 here, and where I bid.

i use BS names on the bid sites... I don't need people knowing what I am bidding on, cuz it turns into cannon fodder right-quick.

at the same time, i always give a brother the right of way if I recognize the name (sometimes the name escapes me though, and a bid without intending to swoop-in on a brother).

F that, I win the auction...... Then bomb the brother part of whatever it was for!
If I was fortunate enough to actually spot a brother on one of the auction sites, this is what I would do as well. But these days, I tend to stay far far away from those devil sites, too much money spent.

I'm pretty bad about figuring who's who by bidding initials/handles, so I don't really pay much attention. If I do recognize someone, I'd certainly steer clear. I do, however, note if the bidder is from APO/FPO and will generally avoid those.
