Yesterday was the day of his ceremony out here. Let off some 120mm instead of the typical 21 gun...this is what I posted on FB;
Today was a sad day. I have been to a soldier memorial before...for one I didn't know and decided to kill himself. Today was much different. Today we held a memorial for MSG George Banner. This man embodied everything I envisioned an SF soldier should be. He was professional in every manner. He was a bad ass dude but never acted better than our lowest enlisted soldier. He was a true leader out here in no man's land and he will be truly missed. My heart goes out to his family.
