You guys talking about never flying again, made me think of our return flight from Costa Rica. We hit the worst turbulence I've ever been in and I've flown over 100 times. This was like a violent roller coaster for several minutes and then it stopped. I'm talking about people screaming, drinks and laptops flying around. I was sitting next to my wife and we were praying and making our final acceptance that this was the end of it for us. Some guy jumped up to go the bathroom as soon as it stopped and the stewardess yelled at him to sit back down. I guess he couldn't hold it and as he made is way down the aisle, the bottom dropped out and we must have done a 100 foot freefall. This guy hit the cieling so hard it broker his shoulder and he landed across several rows of passengers. Moral of the story is...obey the fasten sealt belt sign.
Ironicly for the board we were just off the coast of Cuba, when it happened. I have since been nervous on every flight I've been on since. As soon as it shakes a tiny bit, I start sweating.
