Alright, so who got the maps. I had no intentions of getting them, but my son and his cousins downloaded the new maps with their points. I played a couple rounds last night. If you are a camper, you will love the new maps.

Don't encourage champers...lol.

I'm getting the new maps when (if?) they come out for Wii.

Yeah I figured it was to good to be true! No camper maps, I guess they have bi***ed about this so much so the new maps came out, now we will have a bunch of campers sniping and doing nothing else. I would love some new killstreaks.

I will say one thing, that there are a ton of corners in one of the maps, which is cool, because if you are camping, you can get nailed from a few different sides. However, I did get nailed a few times by jackass campers.

Gotta say, I don't get the utter disdain on camping. Personally, one of the few things that really really turns me off on this and MW2 is the ridiculous way multi-player is played. Yeah, it's fun, but I'd rather have a game where approaching it like a real world situation made sense instead of running around non-stop. I mean really, what on earth is the point of sniper rifles and perks associated with them if there's no place to use them.

I see your point, but when you have guys crouched under a table in the corner of a house it kind of takes away from the game play. Yeah, if there were rooftop turrets or sniper stations like having the ability to climb trees, then I would say, hey that's part of the game.

Well I took the plunge and prestiged for the first time two days ago, and I've blown through to level 39 already. I've found on some maps the PSG1 w/ an ACOG and extended mags can be downright lethal (played Jungle TDM with it, 28/3 )

Whenever I need my fix of tactics and actual strategic playing, I go play some hardcore, get my ass handed to me, and then I'm all good :hysterica

Yeah, no I get that. I got nailed a couple of times last night by some guy hiding in the shadows in a corner on Radiation and I had trouble remembering exactly where. Same with a guy in a corner on a table in Havana and in that one room in Hanoi that has some good corners to defend the room from. Got nailed because the guy moved from one corner to another.

In my mind, I get why some people don't like people who camp, but at the same time camping puts a bullseye on your back. If you stay in one place people are going to come after you and sooner or later you are going to pay for being there.

All's fair in love and war right.

The only problem I have with camping is when I'm in Jungle out for a stroll minding my own business and someone shoots my head off thats crowched under a bush insulated by a claymore. Do you really think thats fair, really?!?

Seriously, food for thought, read this http://www.examiner.com/xbox-360-in-national/how-to-fix-camping-black-ops

Bottem line, I find camping annoying when I'm trying to play the game. BUT in line with my first sentence it is a stratagey employed by many and is just as FAIR gameplay as running around shooting anything that moves.

I don't do it, don't like it..hence I complain about it.

Yeah my future father-in-law is wicked about stuff like that. His favorite thing is putting a motion sensor in the treehouse in Jungle, and he's got 3 spots he alternates between...its really frustrating.

I think it's just that people get so out of sorts about it because they feel camping takes no skill, when it actually does to find a good defensible spot that won't get overrun or snuck up on easily.

Eh, I read the article, made me want to slap the dude upside of the head. All I heard was :cryloud: and :sadcry:. Obviously I have a different idea of "fun" in my head than most that play this game. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, even in run and gun mode, but I'd much rather set up camp with a few fellow players in a defenseable area and try to take out anyone who crossed my sights. Even if I'm going to be moving around the map I would rather be doing it with other players, covering each other and moving in a way that would make sense to do in the real world. I guess I'm just weird.

What he said. Sorry, but it gives me pleasure to tkae out a bunch of guys running around the map like chickens with their heads cut off. Two sides of the coin I guess. :assaultri

I don't see anything weird about it. What I do find interesting is that there are at least two sides to any argument and you are the first person to speak up in favor of camping. Whatever it takes to win, its all fair.

The only true reprehensible act one can do in Ops (in my opinion) is reconfigue the coding to win. These are the folks, if you look at the leaderboard, with 116589611 kills and 2 deaths with an aggregate playing time of 3 minutes, what is that?!?!

A friend of mine playing modern warefare said he played someone who had decoded his game or something where to kill you they would just shoot up in the air and the bullets would fall like rain killing you. Could this be true?

I'm with you on the cheats who amend the game to win.

It became a huge problem in the PC online games that i played.

Is everyone adding BOTL as their clan tag so we can identify each other in the game ?

It does not take skilla to be a camper. I wish like cs there would be campmeter. It takes a special player to play without any skills, but the camping, only thing it takes is being able to not care about your team winning but you not loosing!

Hmm I wonder how many of you I've killed from this forum! LOL.

Sick game and enjoy playing it when I can. Agree on the campers, annoying as hell cause they are too chicken to come out and go head to head.

I can't agree with that, but maybe I'm not considering camping the same thing you are. I "camp" where I believe I can get kills. I see no point to sitting in a corner where I'm never going to get any kills. And seriously, not caring about your team winning? If any of the people playing in Mercenary cared about their team winning the play would be different. There would be true "TEAMWORK" which there isn't.

Like I said, two different sides of the coin I guess.
