I did a quick search and didn't see any threads on this topic.

I recently won an auction on CB for a 5-pack of Graycliff Profesionale Series (blue label), among some other lots. What I found strange is that the 5 Graycliff sticks all were cut off at the foot, cellophane and all, almost as if they were longer sizes that were cut down. So yes, the cellophane is open at the foot of each cigar, and I also noticed that a few of the cigars are oddly shaped, as though they were pressed down under something heavy and at an odd angle.

Has anyone else heard or noticed this with CBid? I'm debating whether or not I should contact their customer service dept. I haven't smoked any yet, so I don't know if there's anything wrong with them, but I found it odd that they came in this condition.

If you are not happy with the sticks then would contact them on it. I have had a couple of minor issues in he past with some sticks that got damaged and they were very good about crediting my account.

I used to be an addict on CBID and received quite a lot of product from them but never with the ends cut off. As was said if you aren't comfortable with the order call and they are good to refund you.

IIRC some greycliff are offered shaggy foot or not, and have seen similar in a store, in a freshly opened box. might be a greycliff thing.

still, not happy, raise cain!

I'm laughing at your comment - turns out that another part of my order was a 10-pack of Cain! Thankfully they appear to be in good shape.

I know graycliff doesn't usually have a flap on the end of the cello. It's usually cut really short. Idk what yours looked like but that's how I've always seen graycliff's. Some have the flap at the end but it's never that big

looks like that's how they are packed with the cello being short and it may be a wierd shape but should still be smokable but hey if your not happy/ have concerns you should always call customer service.

I got a bland apology, and was told that a box is being sent for me to return them. They said that after the return is processed, my money will be refunded. I wrote back and said that I would prefer a replacement 5-pack. I mean, I did win the auction. I should expect replacements, no?

The smokes themselves look too cleanly cut to me for them to be damaged, so I'm left wondering if they are all the same exact length. Cello does look kinda flaky. I've purchased a number of Graycliffs on cbid, but none came in cello at all. I think I'd probably want a replacement fiver myself, were I in your shoes as well. Maybe call 'em back and ask if they'll just send a replacement fiver along with the return box?

I bought some of those back in 2009, and that's how they're shipped. I don't think they were cut off
or anything. I bought Robo's.

That's how Graycliff's are packaged. Well, at least the ones that are made in the Bahamas. The ones that are contracted by CI to be made in Nica or Honduras are packaged normally. This is what I have gathered from my experience...

Hmmmm.....this isn't typical CBID response. They usually will send the right product back and if they don't receive the product in question then they'd just bill you again. I always ask to speak with a Supervisor on any return of anything...the front line workers usually play dumb but again....this isn't a typical CBID type of response.

Update:

My replacement Graycliffs just arrived. Same deal with the cellos cut too short (the feet stick out of the open-ended cellophane tubes), but it sounds like they might ship them this way now. In previous orders, they didn't come with any cello. At least this time the cigars aren't crushed. CBid didn't go above and beyond or anything, but they did replace 'em. Not overly impressed, but I'm not complaining either.
