I have recently fallen in love with the Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux

its fairly inexpensive and a good smoke once they get some age on em. the ones from 03 are smoking very well right now.

Thanks a lot everyone! I gave him a bunch of these suggestions, hopefully he can find some of them, now I'll have to see what he comes up with...

Id go with fresh '10-11 VR Unicos or Monte 2. Just straight flavor bombs. Puts most of the last decade vints to shame how rich they are.

In fact id go as far as to say youd be better off buying fresh cc's over aged stock since the tobacco is better. Always go for the surest thing! Past vints may be good, but unquestionably, recent vints are superb and of a higher calibre. You can always age them yourself too!

As for the '99-02 date cigars, it's really hit or miss. Most will not be able to inspect before purchase. Unless you do the tier 1 vendor route, you really don't know the provenance.

Sure thing but you really think someone is walking into a shop and finding those? If you do find them you have a better chance of them being fake then real. I understand there may be a few shops in the world with them but they are very specialized.
I saw them at a LCDH last fall.. But they were $65 a stick!! Ouch!
