Watchman: SOLD!! GREAT IDEA! Thank you. I am going to look at ceramic, your are so right, it won't melt or burn. Thanks for posting that!
A floor heating kit for that room size looks reasonable too and would work fantastic with ceramic tile.

Now for the walls - Need to find a good faux brick paper that's not too cheap looking, but doesn't break the bank. Amazon has a pile of them. So confused :) heh

To the ones we can save, and those we can't.

I would compare them based on thickness. Should have the thickness listed in mil I would hope

I got this in today
Going to paint it and use it as the intake
But
It won’t fit where I need it! The floor joist is right on top of the 6” collar. The 2x2 space beside has room but I can’t get the duct to fit between the drop ceiling and joist.

I need a super skinny way of getting 6” of duct through 2” space.

Does this work?
Area = pi x r^2
Area = 28.26 sq in

So if I transition to and from a rectangle that is 1” x 24” = 24” sq in it will still flow?

Yes, just upsize a little of possible(room) square has more static or friction loss

Solution!

I’m going to offset the hole in the diffuser towards the 6” end to not lose any flow. Voila!

I hope!

One negative of anyone looking at tiles like this - there is NO sound insulation between floors now. I can hear the kitchen above like being there. After everything is done if it’s too annoying I’ll have to insulate somehow.
