Here is a quick little survey:

I'm interested to find out how you rank Cohiba Cigars. Not EL's or other regionals or things like that. Just a good old Cohiba Like a Esplendido or a Siglo Series. rate it simply 1 to 5. 1 being don't care for them at all and 5 being it it your most smoked brand. Let me know if you have multiple boxes or how you feel about them.

Thanks Guys!

I like em, and would smoke em more often if I could afford them, but they arent the best cigar in the world. I think they are better for me, because I dont smoke them every day, so they carry a special aura! 3.5/5

Siglo I = 3
Siglo II = 3
Siglo III = 3
Siglo IV = 5 (when aged 5 - 7 years)
Siglo V = 5 (same as Siglo IV)
Siglo VI = 4
Especiales = 4 (last one was 7 years old)
Esplendido = 5+ (when aged 5 - 10 years - wow!)
Lancero = 4 (last one was 7 years old)
Robusto = 4 (not as good as an aged PSD#4, IMHO)

Bottom line for me: overpriced and overhyped in general. Good cigars but the value is nowhere near other CC's. You can find many CC's that are equal in quality and flavor at far lower prices. My $0.02.

great thought bro! I was thinking the same thing. I am smoking an espendido right now, and am still trying to figure out the allure behind COHIBA. ???

I've only smoked a handful of Cohiba's, but as others have said, they're just too expensive for what you get. I would much rather have a Partagas or a Bolivar.

I'm a huge fan of the Siglo I's and IV's, with 7+ years they are just fantastic, 5's in my book. I've several boxes of each a couple of both that are close to ready. But like most, for the price, there are many other great Habanos that don't cost as much. SLR "A"'s come to mind, with even 4 years they are fantastic! I just opened a cab from 03' that's wonderful, certainly a 5!

I had the fortune of smoking a number Esplendidos that were ~12+ years old. They came from a friend who. . .er. . .ah. . .traveled extensively and knows his smokes. They were absolutely stupendous. Now, having said that, they were no better than some RyJ Churchill Tubos he brought me that were of the same age at half the price, hence my comment that they are overpriced by a huge margin. Others may feel differently, but IMHO, Cohiba lives on mystique and marketing hype, not on ability. Give me an aged Lusitania, Sir Winston, RyJ, Coronas Gigantes or SLR with the same age and I will be quite happy.

I haven't tried the I or III, but my thoughts are similar to Fox's in that these cigars are best with at least 5 years age.

These are ranked in order:

1. Siglo II 4
2. Siglo VI 4
3. Siglo IV 5
4. Lancero 5
5. Robusto 5
8. Esplendido 5+

I love this marca, and I had a tough choice ranking them, though the Esplendido is clearly the best to me.

The Sig IV, Robusto and Lancero, though completely different cigars, are truly amazing with over 5 years age on them.

I've enjoyed most of the Cohibas I've smoked. Some were better than others, but I can honestly say I've never had a bad one (out of about 3 boxes smoked). They are definately overpriced ... but the same is true for Jamaican Blue Mt. coffee, Louis XIII cognac, Bordeaux wine, white truffles, etc.

Different strokes for different folks ...

I realize this is for Habanos, but I have the same opinion for domestics:

They're okay cigars (2.5 - 3 out of 5), but are too overpriced. They're not terrible, but people hear the word 'Cohiba' and tend to be willing to pay whatever to pick them up.

I agree 100 %, I have some older COROs that were outstanding, the rest are good and way overpriced.

5 - Aged Lancero, Sig IV and Esplendido for sure rate as top cigars in my book.
4 - A good CoRo and Sig V and VI can be ethereal, but far from consistent.
3 - Sig I and II, while never specatcular to me, are very consistent as a high quality and enjoyable smoke.

On the other hand, I do love the DC EL 2003 and I believe the 2006 Pyrimede and 2007 Maduros show tremendous promise. Sublimes were not impressive but sure seem to be coming into their own and never trid the 2001 Pyrimedes.

If a 5 is most smoked brand, I don't smoke any Cohiba as much as others due to price and the other tremendous cigars out there.

I was never a fan of Cohiba so I never smoked enough of them. I gravitate more toward VR, Bolivar and Partagas, to name just a few.

Siglo II = 5
Esplendido = 5 (tasted one 7 year old, that would be a 6)
Robusto = 5

These are just considering taste, looks and feel.

Subtract one point to factor in the price point.

Never had a bad one, haven't had enough to rank them. Siglo II and VI are great, esplendidos also fantastic. For the price, I'd go with partagas top to bottom any day of the week.
