That's a good consideration. I imagine it would circulate the air pretty vigorously; 400 cubic feet/min is quite a bit for a small area like that. You may want to call Austin to ask them about this. I would also ask them how much more noise the larger unit produces. Can you have a conversation comfortably? Watch a movie? The thing that would steer me towards the big model would be the number of smokers it can handle (I sometimes herf with 2 or 3 friends). But I wouldnt want my smoking area to be like a wind-tunnel...(n)
Guys,

An update here. I talked to Austin about the noise of these machines. The lady there said that she runs one in her bedroom when she sleeps. She doesn't see these being an issue at all for holding conversation. They are not perfectly quiet, but she said it's like when you turn a ceiling fan on. You can hear it running and moving air, but it;s not distracting. I'm still going to see if I can finagle one of these as a X-Mas gift!

Anyways, wanted to keep you updated on information. She also recommended the larger size obviously just to ensure that the odor is removed.

Hey Paul...I just got one and love it! :cigar: My mom wanted to know what to get me for my birthday and Christmas, which are only a month apart. I said, "I know just the thing...the gift of not getting lung cancer!" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00210DM1G?dpID=41vnqFbQl2L&dpPl=1&keywords=healthmate plus&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1447113102&ref=plSrch&ref_=mp_s_a_1_1&ref_=redir_mobile_desktop&sr=8-1
I will say, it's a bit noisy on the highest setting, but not terribly so (I have a 3-car garage that I smoke in). The middle fan setting will probably be enough for your area, in which case it's no louder than a quiet conversation. My overall air quality is immensely improved. I'd have to say that on the highest setting, there's at least a 90% reduction of second-hand smoke. Very pleased! (y) I'm a bit of a shill for the product, as Austin is located right here in Buffalo and they had it in my garage in about 18 hours flat...

Wow good news! So honestly, not too noisy for a conversation? Also, draft at all? And in your experience it truly helps a lot, yes? I'll still probably need to air out the garage though right?

Thanks!

Definitely not too noisy. Even on the highest setting, I had a comfortable conversation with my son last week while we burned one together. It does produce some airflow -- maybe as much as small desk fan -- on the high setting (and only on the top right side of the unit). It works great, and I have a 750 sqft area with standard ceilings. (y) Yes, you'll still need to air the garage out. But not nearly as much as before...

That sounds absoltely awesome!
Another maybe dumb question: Does it mitigate enough of the smoke to be relatively not smokey on you clothes and such too? Sorry, this is the wife's biggest complaint.
