Compliment or Complain

If you have tried a cigar and loved it, have you ever written the manufacturer?
Same goes for if you hate it, or even liked it but it was hard to draw or some other problem?

The reason I ask is because I have, I praised Ghurka and they sent me 2 3 packs of cigars and a Ghurka sandwich board ball cap.

I complained to Heaven cigars about a bad draw and they sent me a Disciple pack for free.

Complained about a certain size plug of bark in one of my cigars to Comjimar about one of the NU cigars and they sent me a 5-pack on the house.

Anyone else get lucky like this?

I know praise manufacturers when they do great and complain, if it really is warranted. Don't want to wear out a good thing.

I have no addresses for the manufacturer at this time for the cigars I smoke. Not sure if they can read English either. I love your idea tho, nice going and hope you liked the one's that were mailed to you.

Always a great idea. I'm a letter writer from way back. Good or bad they get a response. Cigarwise, CAO sent me two boxes of crillo's when I got one with beetles. I have picked up free hotel rooms, dinners, Mercedes service, and other all from writing and giving feedback. Ask any manufacturer or service provider. The good ones really want to know.

Oh by the way, my BLACK DOG COFFEE this morning was unbelieveable. Last of the timor. Smooth with lots of flavor. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :innocent:

Well, considering my friend sometimes lets me product test some of the new blends I tell him what I think then. Otherwise I get what I know I like.

I may just write Rocky Patel and Fuente.

I don't think they are sending you a free 5 pack.

I never have and it never really crossed my mind. I have heard a ton of interviews where they love to get feeback so I guess I should.

I have sent one to Rocky telling him (not complaining) about a void in an Old world I got a few weeks ago. I did not do it in the attempt to get anything in return, but rather to let him know because I would hate to see it get a bad review by someone.

I'll pass on any responces I get from them.

Yep, back when Frankie Santos was a Torano, I sent him a nice email about his cigars. I got a Torano cap, Sweater, wind shirt, some cigars...not a bad thing to let them know you like their stuff!

Just to follow up, some of them I called and that got a response. Just this past month I have become a believer in venting to Companies, wrote to energizer about some rechargeable batts that weren't holding there charge, they are sending me a coupon for free replacements, called Kleenex Puffs when I got some fuzz in one box, they sent a coupon for a free 3pack, wrote CVS as they had a sale for some firewood and none of the stores in the area received any to sell, they are looking into it and will find out what they can do, and last but not least, I really dug around and found the e-mails for the CEO and his underlings for JCPenney to complain about some cookware that ended up being crapware, lo and behold get a call today from a local store manager who said hey we want to rectify the matter bring it in for exchange and you can get a better set just for the hassle!

Google a company if you can't write or call tyhe manufacturer directly, then call the US Rep. for them... I found if one time doesn't do it, doing it a second time and REALLY complaining about the lack of repsonse and poor customer service helps,... sometimes you even need to remind them that 1 unhappy customer tells 10 of their friends, and so on and so on...

Yes, I have complimented some Companies never to hear back again, but I will say this, I have enjoyed the freebies I have received and wear my Ghurka hat proudly, best had I have ever owned when it comes to ball caps!

Once I had writen to CAO to complain about the cigars having major Draw Issues...I wasn't trying to get something for free..But I was concerned about the quality of the cigars coming out.

I never got a response.

I figure they probably thought I didn't know what I was talking about....LOL
