But, i agree whole heartedly. I just feel you can't move history. I'm sorry, Johnny Carson would be rolling in his grave and pooping on Leno's Doritos!

I'm surprised people haven't discussed this yet on here.
All I can say is that I can't believe Jeff Zucker still has a job at all ... he was a great show-runner and a horrible exec. I cant' decide if I want NBC to relent and keep Conan where he is or if I want Conan to leave and go to FOX and start a better show.

I like Conan and Craig Ferguson out of the current line up. Buy Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon were the best.

Craig IS awesome, I agree. He's hilarious and really excellent at that job. He deserves a front-line spot in the late night lineup ... certainly over Dave, man that guy jumped the shark like 10 years ago.

Yea. He's very postmodern. Most of his scripted stuff is quite random (again, postmodern). But he has a fantastically quick wit.
Conan and Craig Fergusson are both truly excellent interviewers because their minds are so darn fast--they think of a joke to tack onto any statement, and a 2nd joke which refers back to another joke from a time early in that same episode (bringing the audience a sense of "yea, I was there for that special joke, I get it!" feeling--false connectedness, very postmodern, lol).
There are rumors that Leno is extremely pissed at NBC for all of this as well, and he may walk away like Conan did. How funny would it be if Conan went to Fox, and Leno actually retired leaving NBC with Jimmy Fallon and Carson Daly.
Im on team CoCo on this... he's a comedic genious.
Leno never did it for me. he botches every other joke! so distracting. horrible interviewer... he's a di*k to his guests and even makes them "earn their plug." wtf is that??? a little pretentious even if it's meant to be funny.
he had a good run but needs to bow out gracefully to save the reputation of a household name which is the Tonight Show. Conan ROCKS.

When Carson left the show there was a void that will never be filled by the current line up. I like Craig Furgeson alot but he didn't come up in the ranks like Carson did. Late night is a joke anymore as they all try "forced humor" as it doesn't come naturally to them. Doesn't matter who writes the jokes for them if they can't deliver them it's not funny.

I was a huge Conan fan at the 12:30 spot. He seems more subdued at the new spot, not as "edgy". I think Fallon is doing a decent job at the 12:30 slot. Now that Conan isn't playing ball I hope he gets to let loose on Fox or something. Either way, I'm about tired of it all.

Not a fan of Conan at all... I hardly ever watch that time slot on NBC now.
And how is any of this Leno's fault? The way I see it, NBC is moving him back because that's what the ratings demand. People are not tuning into that channel now like they did when Leno was on.

I hate Leno...he's just so unfunny to me...Nothing more than a talking head reading a teleprompter IMO. The only time I would watch his show was when Letterman was a rerun and even then, I'd check my DVR first for other things to watch.
Conan was good...not great, but far better than Leno IMHO.
Ferguson is hands down the best late night show on.
