Leno ruled late night, why NBC let Conan ruin their ratings is beyond me. They should have just offered him to keep his spot or risked letting him go until Leno was ready to leave. This whole thing is about money, yet they let the guy who brought in the highest ratings leave? It makes no sense. Fallon is an idiot and should have just stayed on SNL as he was funnier there. Conan will never do well at the 11:30pm time slot as his stuff is a little edgy I believe and polarizes the viewers whereas Leno does well with all ages. Leno in stand up he is hilarious if you ever get to see him in Vegas at the Mirage.

Who/What is original these days though
I agree somewhat.. Leno is certainly an "old format" comedian, but he does a good job at it. But Conan / Fergusson are cut from a different cloth altogether--that's why they are more polarizing ...

... isn't that right, Jewish turtle riding a mechanical bull?

Not a fan of Conan at all... I hardly ever watch that time slot on NBC now.

And how is any of this Leno's fault? The way I see it, NBC is moving him back because that's what the ratings demand. People are not tuning into that channel now like they did when Leno was on.
It's definitely not all Leno's fault, but the low primetime ratings for Leno translate to lower ratings for the local news which translate to lower ratings for Conan. The other interesting thing with the ratings is that he is doing the same as Leno did in the Young Adult demo, but the older folks aren't watching. I personally wish that he would be a bit edgier but I'm sure that would just alienate more of the older viewers.

I'm totally with Conan on this one, moving the tonight show back would just not be right. Carson must be rolling in his grave.

Needless to say...

I don't think Leno has been funny in ages, he made the show stale and didn't do much with it and doesn't have any sort of direction for the show.

He kind of just took the old show and wanted to be Johnny Carson, but Conan wants to have his own show. Hes more deserving of it.

It was already silly moving Leno on earlier as soon as Conan took over, then him back again is just insane. If Leno wants to do whatever he wants let him do it some place else or another time slot.

Yeah people don't give conan a fair shake. Message to NBC, if Leno was really that popular you wouldn't have to cancel his show, which was nothing more than a series of infomercials. Leno screwed Conan. How well would Leno have done if Johnny had done the same thing to him?
