each state had their own rules,,, there were only a few states that had a reciprical, "you can carry in my state if i can carry in yours..." for instance, if i drove to idaho, i couldn't carry in AZ, Nev, Utah,,, but i could in idaho...

Nebraska's law (effective Jan 1, 2007) requires applicants for a concealed-weapon permit to pass a background check and complete a handgun training and safety course. The cost is $100 and is valid for five years. Convicted felons will not be allowed permits.

Concealed weapons are not be allowed in a variety of places, including bars, police stations, public meetings, athletic events, schools, churches, hospitals and banks. Signs are also posted prohibiting the carrying of concealed weapons in other locations.

The new law does not overturn cities' existing ability to ban concealed weapons with their own ordinances. Omaha has such a law on its books.

www.packing.org and www.handgunlaw.us are good resources for the different state laws.

Here in Connecticut you need a permit to buy handguns, or a certificate allowing you to buy (everyone just gets the permit). If you have a permit from another state the gun need to be unloaded in a locked case not accessible to the passenger compacts (SUV's, minivans in the back).
