Something to consider. I had a Carnival cruise booked for last May. I chose some ship that had a 100 seat cigar bar because cigar smoking was outlawed most places on the ship. That cigar bar was used 90% of each day for some other purpose than as originally intended.
Balconies are not an option for a cigar smoker, they're a necessity. Smoking is often discouraged on them but our housekeeping brought new ashtrays each day and, by the end of it, also had a bucket stocked with ice & two glasses out on the table, ready for my smoking experience. There's no question, get the balc...
My gf and I spent about 2gs apiece for a January 10 day NCL out of NYC + another grand a piece for drinks, excursions, spa, and dinner covers.ciggy said:Excellent Thread...I needed this one too.
my wife and I talked about a possible cruise or all inclusive vacation. Neither of us have done one or the other and I would love to take her.
On an avarage...what is the cost for a decent get away?
Cruises are what you make them out to be. They don't have to be expensive and a weeks cruise into the Carribean can be had for $369 if you do an inside cabin. Ocean View is about another $100 while Balconies go for about another $200 but are great because you can smoke from your own cabin and have as much privacy as you want. If you like to get out and enjoy the ports and won't spend that much time in your cabin then an inside is all you need and you can spend $$$ on other things. Depending on the cruiseline food is good on Celebrity, HAL and Princess while most of the other ones are moderate to bad. Research as much as you can on cruiselines as they are different. The wife and I do Princess a lot because we are in their program and are Platinum Members ( tons of free upgrades like upgraded rooms,,,from Balcony to Suite,,,free internet, free laundry, free champagne, etc. so it pays to stay with a good cruiseline )Excellent Thread...I needed this one too.
