Do any of you boys remember the cigar boom (Late 90s / early 2000s) and the resulting quality?

One of the most compelling reasons I know to stock up on your favorites, when the embargo is lifted it will make the boom seem like a popcorn fart.
THAT my friend is hitting the nail on the head!

I'm not sure if that is your feeling or what you think the US government feels. I have not met a single person who has been to Cuba, who wants US influence in that country. Anyone who has been there understands the positive outcome through capitalism will be overshadowed by the chaos that ensues. Democracy 'in principle' would be great for the Cuban people. But 'in principle' so is socialism.

Altadis owns 50%. They gave Cuba improved technology, marketing, and most importantly cash.
Since Altadis' sale (or pending sale) there is no guarantee that Imperial will obtain the 50% hold on Habanos S.A. I haven't heard the outcome yet (been awhile since I've heard an update) but Imperial was in negotiations with the Cuban Government. The original Altadis contract stated that the 50% holding could be deemed null and void upon sale of Altadis....

Anyone have more recent info?

Most people that I speak to (but of course would never order from:) in the biz agree that a lifetd embargo equals demand that Habanos would not be able to keep up with.
Then the simple law of supply and demand WOULD increase prices, as well as flooding the market with counterfeits. It would suck!

My guess is that's what all those so called collectors(actually investers)
in Hong Kong are waiting for.
The guys with the humidors bigger than our houses.
For them it will be better than winning the lottery.
Demand will outway supply, therefore prices will skyrocket.
They unload most of there stock (aged of course)then sit back and laugh at us stupid americans for not being able to stock up legally.
Just my $.02

I think it would be sweet if when we ended our embargo against Cuba, Cuba started an embargo against us for being assholes!

I am just hoping that my funds get right soon and I will stock up on a couple hundred or so of my favorite family photos.
