That looks to be below the cap to me. Maybe I'm looking at the pictures incorrectly, but if the wrapper is cracked, especially where it's going to contact your mouth, I can almost guarantee it will unravel a bit.

If it was a $5 cigar, I'd probably say smoke it, but given that it's a 1926 - I'd ask for it to be replaced. Then again, I'm a pretty big pain in the ass most times.
That's my feeling. It's cracked below the cap, and the wrapper is damaged. I tend to keep my cigars wet while I smoke them, so I have unraveling issues with a lot of cigars anyway. This will only complicate things.

And it's a 1926, if I were paying for this as a single, it's a $20 cigar. If this were virtually any other cigar, this thread wouldn't exist. I'd smoke it and move on, just as I've done with other cigars.

Ok here's my update: sent an email to CBid customer service yesterday, and got a pretty quick response. I send pictures and this morning she says she thinks the damage isn't very far below the cap and that it should cut without unraveling. I'm not sure how I feel about this, because the cigar was damaged. I don't want to cut it and have it fall apart while I'm smoking it. It's a pricy cigar. It was the Padron 1926 No. 1 churchill in the sampler. Here are the pictures:
Wow, I'm shocked by that response. Maybe customer service is slipping like the rest of the place. I'd call them back and tell them that they sent you damaged product, and it needs to be replaced.

I don't know what it is, but Padron has been having issues lately. I received a damaged pack as well, and even a guy that works at a cigar bar I frequent has said the same thing.

Even if it was a behike I'd smoke it. It may or may not unravel. If it does it won't be much. Its not like you're going to be chomping on it. I hope lol

Update time: emailed the CS rep this morning and told her the damage is below the cap, and I was in fact worried about it unraveling. She said thanks, and she'd be shipping out a replacement. Sounds like a plan to me!

FYI, Cbid usually sends a prepaid shipping label, as they normally want the damaged product back. I'd make very sure that they don't want it back before smoking it, otherwise they may bill you for the replacement.
Yeah I was just kidding. Reshipping a broken cigar on another trip further downstream isn't going to get anybody anywhere.
Options are send it back, smoke it there, or hand it away.

Update time: the replacement should arrive today. I haven't had any communication from CBid about sending it back, so I'll see what's in the box (Jimmy Fallon, anyone?). I'm perfectly sending it back if need be. Haven't smoked in a couple of weeks because it's been too cold. Next week though, I'll be smoking on a Mexican beach!

Edit: And don't worry, if I ever get into the noob trade or do a pif, there won't be a 1926 No.1 with a cracked cap in there!
