Yeh +1 here on getting it sorted , u shouldn't have to do anything to cigars u buy other than put them in the humi and maybe smoke 1 ;) imagine you took his 02 sensor out and forgot to put it back in he wouldn't like it so u shouldnt have to cut mould off and reshape cigars . Hope it works out if not I can reshape and cut for u lol

It happens on singles. I remember touring one of the larger discount online retailers in an eastern state. They sell a lot taster/trial packages of singles. The guys packaging them were pulling sticks out of a huge 50 gallon bin. None of them looked all that great and the ones on the bottom were crunched pretty good. I questioned the lead guy and he said that when they pulled sticks from boxes at a certain point they just dumped em into the barrels for future " grab bag" or taster pack sales.

Pretty funny when you think about the careful humidified homes where we place them.

You know, I figured as much and might not have said anything if there wasn't mold present. That is just not acceptable. I recently went to a local B&M to buy a few singles.. There was mold on more than a few cigars and I saw beetle holes! I went up to him and said "I'm sorry to tell you but you have beetle holes in your Prensados" he told me "oh I know, the humidity is up and down.. The bugs come in the summer" I was mortified that he wasn't going to do anything about it and shocked by his response in general.. How nuts.. That he would just leave the cigars with beetle holes in there. I'm still in disbelief.

I had an instance with an online purchase from CI. Was a 5 pack and a small tin. I thought it was odd when the thing showed up in a huge box. One of the 5 pack was damaged and the tin was shaken up so bad all the pig tail caps were broken. I basically explained to them that the original box had to have been damaged and the shipper repackaged. They immediately sent me a new single from the 5 pack and a whole new tin of the others. Great customer service. Bring up any problems and most reputable places won't hesitate to make it right.

I hope they fix that issue for you. Like it was said earlier, sure you can salvage them. Sale or not though, it's customer service, and the principle of the matter. You paid for premium cigars. Not for damaged and effected (by the mold I mean) goods. I'm sure that wasn't part of the descriptions. You wouldn't by food and try to salvage what you bought if it had mold and you wouldn't buy smushed bread. I'm glad you contacted them. Did your new shipment arrive?

No but it should today, I'm hoping.

A friend of mine who is new to cigars bought some there, saw a hole and asked about it. The guy said it was normal. He lit it up and the smoke shot up through the beetle hole like a steam train engine. Luckily I had seen on this forum to freeze them, and told him to freeze the rest before putting them in his humidor. Nevermind that they stalk you there....That place sucks. I won't be back.

I've never been stalked but the fact that he sold your friend a cigar with a hole in it is reason enough for me to stay away. That pisses me off.
