Guitar (fender strat), bass (of the upright variety), saxophone (mainly tenor), and drums. I can kinda play most concert band instruments (clarient, flute, trombone, trumpet, etc), but terribly.

Trumpet from 4th grade through high school. Had a scholarship to go into music, but decided otherwise. Only pick it up now on rare occasions.

Growing up I played the piano. Lost interest because I could read the music and play it, but never had the talent to improvise. I think that is a true sign of a musician, and that i'm not. But, when my wife's out of town, I play my flute once in a while!!!! :halfgrinw

I have always had tons of respect for people that can learn songs just by hearing them. It is completely different than reading the music IMO.

My grandfather has a similar talent, he knows exactly where the E note on the guitar is in his head, he can tune any guitar that way and you check him with a tuner and hes like spot on. It is almost creepy.

Trombone - long ago
Guitar - 12 string
Banjo - 5 string
One of the best musical experiences of my life was in the 70's. My Dad grew up in Appalachia (Hiltons, VA). When I went out to meet my relatives, I met the entire Carter family that he had gone to school with including June, and played along with them. Its been awhile now with business pressing but I still pick up the Martin from time to time.
