This Don Pepin Event took place on June 6, 2009 @ Empire Cigars (formerly known as Capital City Cigars.

It started at 3:00pm and people starting showing up a little after 12:00 noon, the end was suppose to be 9:00pm and the last left close to 11:00pm.

As for event deals, Hal Rubin, the owner, started with 15% of a single box plus a 5 pack of special cigars that Don Pepin brought with him. Buy 2 and he gave you both boxes for 20% off and (2) 5 packs. Buy 3 and he upped the ante to 25% with (3) 5 packs

We went through (3) - 1/2 kegs (15.5 gals each) of an IPA, American Wheat and a fantastic Bourbon Barrel Stout (all brewed by one of our customer and my best friend, Walt), 5 gallons of Mojito's and somewhere between 8-10 bottles of Rum. There was plenty of food and Hal's wife made some great cheesecake - cherry and strawberry.

Getting to meet the man himself, Jose Pepin Garcia, was a once-in-a-lifetime event. John Gonzalez, Vice President - Sales, was traveling with "The Don" and translating for him....John and I go back about six years, he is a great guy!

Of course I printed up some pictures for him to personalize for me and I had my picture taken with him several times! It was a great evening!

The first three pictures let's you know what kind of turn out there was. The 2nd picture is Don Pepin signing a picture for me and the last picture is John Gonzalez, me and Don Pepin.

I am jealous. Nobody ever comes to West Texas. It's a pretty big deal when Brian, the CAO rep, shows up. Nobody else will come out here. They might hit Midland because it's on the interstate, but they won't come out in the sticks.
