It's actually made a slight change for the better. Here in SE VA we are just starting to see the tropical storm winds and rain is not too bad considering. Slightly above normal high tide this morning. The eye should pass by us a few hours before high tide(9PM tonight) and the storm surge predictions have gone down, which is great news.hope the projections are wrong. doesn't sound good. stay safe out there brothers!! and keep us posted if you can...
same here bro. Thanks for the good thoughts! On the count down for Irene about 5 hours away from PA. Alreday over cast and humid as hell.
Fill jugs with water and freeze them too. If no electricity it will keep food cold longer. If no water, can use to drink. Fill washbasins with water too so you can pour buckets in the toilet to flush.Just a light rain so far in NYC. We're just about done with our storm prep. Brought the patio furniture in, got up on the roof to clear out the downspout, turned the freezer up to max, and picked up some beer. As long as the trees don't blow over I think we're in good shape now.

In addition to Fia's great advice, fill up all your coolers and other large containers with water. Make sure you have fresh batteries, gas in your car(s), plenty of canned goods, candles for light, and toilet paper. Tape your large picture windows with a large X from corner to corner.Fill jugs with water and freeze them too. If no electricity it will keep food cold longer. If no water, can use to drink.
